Basically, backture is a video app with reminders that lets you combine "before" and "after" videos and create/share stories.

Philosophically, backture is an effort to connect past, present and future. Yes, we know. It sounds hypothetical. It actually is.

We believe that human life is not all about present time even though all the existing social media try to squeeze our lives into moments, minutes, hours or a few days. Each of us do have a past and a future. Everything in our lives have a before and after. Human life is way more complicated than its current representation in social media.

backture is a new way of connecting your prior and future experiences and anything between them. It is about past but its not a nostalgia app. It is about future but it is not a letter to the future app. It is, actually, about present time but not a carpe diem one.

backture is also a private social network. Ironically, it encourages you to have as few friends as possible on your backture friends list. If possible, only add your real friends to your list. (You need to add every potential friends email address manually. Well, they have to do it for you, too.)

If you want to share your backture stories, you can do it easily. We do not require you to share them with anyone, though. You can keep all your stories private, if you want.

Do you know what? If we can learn from our past and if we dont forget about the future, everything in our lives (and even in the world) can be different. backture is just a small tool which embarace this idea.
